Tom Powers
At the age of 12, Tom began his life-long association with CFD by selling seat cushions. He served as Ticket Chairman from 1979 to 1981 and became General Chairman in 1982. In the final days of his life he proposed the establishment of the CFD Memorial Scholarship Fund to honor CFD volunteers. The first scholarship was granted in 1985 when $1,500 was divided between three applicants. Due to his dream, hundreds of individuals have shared the possibility of higher education.
