Shirley Flynn
Shirley was one of the founding members on the Cheyenne Frontier Days™ Old West Museum board. She handled the publicity for the Museum form 1978 to 1980. Then in January 1987, she was hired as director of the Museum and served in that position until 1991. Knowing the importance of recording events and developing an archive, Shirley collected documents, memorabilia, old scrapbooks, Wyoming titles and photographs for the Museum archives. This led her to write LET’S GO, LET’S SHOW, LET’S RODEO, THE HISTORY OF CHEYENNE FRONTIER DAYS for the 100th Annual Cheyenne Frontier Days™ in 1996. Since then she has continued to publish books and articles on Cheyenne Frontier Days™, Cheyenne and the West. Recent issues of the Souvenir Program contain many of her stories. A W-HEEL since 1978, she works on each Parade. Currently she is preparing a history of Cheyenne with fellow Hall of Fame inductee, Bill Dubois.
