Ronda Mahan

In 1972, Ronda Mahan became Assistant Rodeo Secretary to Lois Wade (Rodeo Secretary) and in 1976 when Lois retired, she became the CFD Rodeo Secretary, a position she held until 2000. She was an official PRCA secretary and cardholder. Her greatest achievement was the use of computers to record the scores and times of contestants – this was far in advance of their use at any other rodeo. She enlisted the assistance of Buffie Bottorff to help refine the program into a truly remarkable and efficient system. The work that was once based on paper and pencil, adding machines and typewriters was computerized. All work was completed by 5 p.m. every day instead of midnight. She preserved until she had a design that had more power and capability than the one developed by the PRCA. She was an active member of the Contestants Committee for twenty-eight years and it has been said she was the glue that held the committee together. In 1980 she was given a silver committee badge, which she wore with great honor and pride. Cheyenne Frontier Days™ was her pride and joy.
