Norma Bell Morris

The daughter of Frank and Toots Bell, Norma was crowned Miss Frontier at the old dance pavilion on the Frontier Grounds in 1949 by western movie star Charles Starrett. While representing Cheyenne Frontier Days™ as both Lady-in-Waiting and as Miss Frontier, Norma had the opportunity to travel extensively. She visited seven states by air and promoted Cheyenne Frontier Days™ at the Railroad Fair in Chicago, Illinois with the Union Pacific Railroad. She traveled to Colorado and Nebraska with Princess Blue Water, Chief Red Cloud and the Sioux Indian Tribe of Pine Ridge, South Dakota to promote the “Daddy of ‘em All.” ® Norma Bell married John Morris in 1952, and they, along with their three daughters, have continued their active involvement with CFD™. Norma is a W-Heel, having achieved Fifth Wheel status (having served more than 25 years with the organization). Today, John and Norma host the artists and their families at a barbecue the night before the Western Invitational Art Show. This tradition has been a part of the festivities for 23 years.
