Marietta Dinneen
Raised on a ranch in Wyoming Marietta Dinneen fostered an interest and dedication in preserving western heritage. As a child she spent hours driving her horse and buggy and was active in 4-H. After moving to Cheyenne Marietta became active in the Cheyenne Frontier Days™ W-Heels a group of women who are in charge of the historic carriage section of the parade. As the number of carriages grew Marietta became increasingly dedicated to their care and preservation. She served on the founding board of the Old West Museum and organized the carriage coordinating committee and the wagon doctors group. She established the carriage library which is dedicated to scholarship and research of carriages. Actively involved in fundraising for and education about the carriage collection at the Old West Museum Marietta Dinneen continues her hands-on effort of pushing pulling planning and researching the preservation and maintenance of the collections. With a sparkle in her eye Marietta states that she has moved more carriages and baked more brownies for museum events than any other human being alive.
