Ace Tyrrell
Ace Tyrrell arrived in Cheyenne in 1938 after he and Edward Neilson purchased Knox Chevrolet. Tyrrell became intimately involved with Cheyenne Frontier Days™ in 1943 when he became a member of the Night Show Committee. He served on the CFD Day Show Committee in 1945 and 1946 as Treasurer, and became General Chairman in 1947 and served through 1949. He was elected to the HEELS in 1950 and from that time until 1971 he was a racing judge. He was a “hard-nosed” businessman and rancher who gave his all to Cheyenne and Cheyenne Frontier Days™, as well as all other community undertakings and charitable causes.
