Reba McEntire
This country music legend has a long history at Cheyenne Frontier Days™. Her family has been competing attending and entertaining at Cheyenne for over 70 years. She traces her entertainment roots back to Cheyenne. As a young entertainer she earned her first money in the lobby of one of the downtown hotels singing “Jesus Loves Me” to the cowboys for a nickel. Her first appearance at the Night Show was in 1985 where she shared the stage with the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. She returned in 1989 with Skip Ewing and stood alone in 1990 singing to a packed house. The McEntire family has a strong connection to Cheyenne Frontier Days™. Reba McEntire’s grandfather Jim McEntire won the steer roping title in 1934 and her father Clark McEntire took steer roping in 1954 and 1961. Her brother Pake McEntire and two of her nephews have continued the tradition of competing at Cheyenne. Her sister Susie Luchsinger sings for the Cowboy church services at Cheyenne Frontier Days™.
