Jeremy Sparks
Few could be argued to have put up such a good face to the bulls in the CFD arena and the media as Jeremy Sparks. A native of Fountain Hill, Arkansas and a Magna Cum Laude graduate of the University of Arkansas he was a dedicated bullfighter
earning his PRCA bullfighting card in 2000. After the attacks of September 11, 2001, Jeremy joined the United States Air Force to serve his country. His unique skills prompted his superiors to allow him to continue his rodeo career. In doing so, he became the first and only professional rodeo cowboy in all the US Armed Forces and was granted permission by the Pentagon to officially represent the US Air Force at rodeos worldwide. As luck would have it, Sparks First duty station was at F.E. Warren Air Force Base. Shortly after his arrival he was invited by Cheyenne Frontier Days to participate in the 2002 rodeo. Sparks arrived as the third member of the bull fighting team, serving with legends Rick Chapman and Dwayne Hargo. On his first performance, on Military Appreciation Day, Sparks fulfilled a lifelong dream of performing at CFD and showed his gratitude by donating his performance. He returned the next year in 2003 and eventually took over as the senior bull fighter in the arena until his retirement in 2010. In the spirit of the volunteerism that first brought him to CFD, Sparks donated his last performance as well to the "Daddy of 'Em All:' CFD was home to Jeremy and he performed at no other professional rodeo. Even before his retirement, his friendship with the CFD Old West Museum
has been expressed time and again with his assistance in several exhibits that helped bring public understanding of the courage and raw talent necessary to be a CFD bullfighter.
A great promoter and friend of Cheyenne Frontier Days, Jeremy Sparks has become one of the most recognizable personalities on and off the arena floor.
