Monty Henson
Monty “Hawkeye” Henson was a top saddle bronc rider and the CFD Champion in 1976. He loved the atmosphere of Cheyenne Frontier Days™ celebrations and would go on stage and sing or speak at the Hitching Post night entertainments. This led to a second career as an entertainer and country western bandleader, later being booked several times at the Hitching Post. Monty would appear at CFD autograph parties upon request, often rustling up several of the young cowboys to make appearances with him.
