Robert D. “Bob” Hanesworth served as secretary of the Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce from 1926 to 1950 when the Frontier Committee was an arm of that Chamber. Hanesworth was secretary of the show and became identified with the development of the rodeo until his death in 1968. Hanesworth so enjoyed the “Daddy of ‘em All” ® that he preserved all the information he could about Cheyenne Frontier Days™, from badges to books and everything in between. In 1967, he used his cataloged collection to write The Daddy of ‘em All: The Story of Cheyenne Frontier Days™. His collection is now housed at the American Heritage Center at his alma mater, the University of Wyoming.
