R.J. "Rudy" Hofmann
An avid fan, volunteer and promoter of Cheyenne Frontier Days™, Rudy Hoffmann attended at least one performance of each show for over sixty years, starting when his mother took him to the first Frontier Day on September 23, 1897 at the age of four. His record of attendance is equaled by only a handful of people. Beginning his affiliation with Cheyenne Frontier Days™ in 1926 by serving as Chairman on the committee that sold tickets, he continued to promote Frontier Days by returning to the committee as General Chairman in 1938. Rudy was General Chairman from 1938 to 1946 and under his guidance, the show became widely publicized and attendance grew. He was also a charter HEEL. Known to have an outstanding ability to manage rodeos, Rudy Hofmann became President of the International Rodeo Association and served for 10 years. His dedication to the sport of rodeo and to the promotion of Cheyenne and Cheyenne Frontier Days™ helped keep the “Daddy of ‘em All” alive.
